ABOUT .bon

Joshua Tree and FountainDuring my artistic journey, I have experienced oils, watercolors, pastels, colored pencil and acrylics. I have also experimented with wood turning, pottery, jewelry making and photography. I am now concentrating on acrylic painting and mixed media as these allow me to best express my creativity through the vibrant colors and versatility of the media.

Most recently, I have painted what I see around me in the Mountain West where Iíve grown up as a Colorado native, the Northern Sonoran Desert where I love to hike and observe the magnificent desert landscape, and the sea where I frequently sail and snorkel and experience colorful fish and sailboats. In many of my recent paintings, Iíve experimented with simplified shapes, intense colors, exaggerated perspectives with a few surprises sprinkled in.

In addition to individual collectors, my clients have included a number of art galleries. I am a member of the Lincoln Gallery/Thompson Valley Art League in Loveland, Colorado where I exhibit my work. I have participated in their National and Regional Shows over the past few years and have received several awards for my paintings. I also belong to the Heritage Fine Art Guild in Littleton, Colorado and the Sonaran Art League in Cave Creek, ArizonaThe Unconformities

My solo show "The Unconformities" featured new work experiementing with bright colors, simple shapes and non-traditional perspectives.
